In memoriam
Larry D. Hartzog
May 4, 1934 - September 22, 2014

We are deeply saddened by the passing of our senior partner, Larry D. Hartzog.  Larry co-founded Hartzog Conger & Cason in 1979.  The Firm opened its offices as a small three-person shop in far northwest Oklahoma City.  Soon thereafter, the firm began to grow both in number of lawyers and clientele, and ultimately became a highly regarded downtown Oklahoma City law firm.  In 2000, Drew Neville and a number of his partners joined the Firm, at which time the name was changed to Hartzog Conger Cason & Neville.

Larry was an extraordinary lawyer, a skillful dealmaker and the consummate legal strategist.  In the 1970s, Larry was featured in Fortune Magazine for his work on Wall Street in connection with the reorganization of the Hayden Stone investment banking firm, the creation of Shearson Lehman/American Express, and the reformation of the New York Stock Exchange.  Larry later pioneered the first major “going private” transaction for a New York Stock Exchange - traded company, which became a blueprint for subsequent going private transactions across the country.

Larry took great pride and satisfaction in the success of the Firm and the success of each of its lawyers.  In every way, Larry always contributed far more to the Firm than he took.  That’s the mark of a great partner.  He was a mentor and a friend, and will be greatly missed.
