The firm represents public charities, community foundations, private operating foundations and private non-operating foundations. The firm has helped many of its clients create and maintain charitable organizations. In addition to assisting clients in the formation of new charitable organizations and obtaining tax-exempt status, attorneys in the firm assist tax-exempt clients with a broad range of issues, such as obtaining ad valorem tax exemptions, liability protection, joint ventures, tax credit financing, employment, benefit plans and governance issues, and other issues often faced by taxable business entities.
